The ‘ASCEND Side-Rotating/Swivel Base’ boat ladder comes standard with its own customized roller frame bracket and swivel base. Depending on aspects such as bow height and/or anchor assembly location this ladder version is typically suitable for boats 6m+ (19.7’+) in length.
This genuinely unique bow-access Jacob’s Ladder version has been especially created to accommodate those boat situations where the permanent location of an anchor (most often a large anchor) at the boat’s bow-sprit prohibits location and installation of a bow- access ladder at the bow-sprit itself. This is a quite common situation with boats 6m (19.7’) and above in length and having high bows. The ‘Side-Rotating’ Jacob’s Ladder provides an alternate opportunity for you as a boat owner to still have bow-access to your boat from any desirable point as far forward at the front and on either side of your boat. As reflected in the attached ‘animation’ this ‘Side-Rotating’ Jacob’s Ladder is installed as close to the boat’s side along the gunnel line at the foredeck, with its facility to swivel around on its base so as to allow the commercial quality ‘3 step Extendable’ ladder to drop-down to its fully extended deployed length of 1m (3.3’). For retrieval, the now-boarded crew member simply lifts the extended ladder upwards from its deployed position such that the two tubular ladder extensions automatically drop-down under their own weight into their retracted telescopic locations. The retracted ladder is then swiveled around and lowered from its vertical position back down to its stored position on the foredeck.
As with all of the Jacob’s Ladder models, when boarding or disembarking this ‘Ascend Side-Rotating’ version provides a totally firm feeling underfoot and when deployed sits out off the boat at a 10 degree angle so as to provide an easier climb upwards and into the boat when boarding. It is the angled and solid-fixed aspect of each of the bow-access Jacob’s Ladders when deployed, along with their full integration with the bowsprit ‘roller frame’ which are the unique-patented features of each of the ladders in our Jacob’s Ladder product range.
